學習目標

  • Teach students key English vocabulary for science, technology, engineering, and maths. They will learn words to understand STEM topics better.
  • Help students use correct English grammar and phrases in STEM contexts. This builds skills for writing and reading accurately.
  • Improve students’ ability to read and understand simple STEM texts in English. They will grasp instructions, facts, and descriptions.
  • Support students in writing short, clear sentences using STEM vocabulary. They will record observations and ideas from lessons.

Foundations of STEM Vocabulary

  • Focus: Learn essential STEM words suitable for the respective year of study (i.e., Primary 1 to 6, respectively).
  • Activities: Match key terms to images, read concise labels, and write individual STEM words with purpose.
  • Goal: Master a suitable number of foundational STEM terms and use them confidently.

2級

Crafting STEM Sentences

  • Focus: Construct meaningful sentences with STEM vocabulary.
  • Activities: Complete guided sentence exercises, read a number of sentence explanations, and write original phrases.
  • Goal: Create and comprehend a suitable number of purposeful STEM sentences.

3級

Enriching STEM Vocabulary

  • Focus: Expand knowledge with vital STEM terms tailored to the year of study.
  • Activities: Categorise words by STEM fields, read engaging sentence texts, and write descriptive sentences.
  • Goal: Command essential STEM terms in meaningful contexts.

4級

Understanding STEM Directions

  • Focus: Interpret clear instructions.
  • Activities: Follow written processes, pair directions with visuals, and write concise responses.
  • Goal: Accurately read and apply purposeful STEM instructions.

5級

Exploring Descriptive STEM Language

  • Focus: Enhance descriptions with terms alongside STEM vocabulary.
  • Activities: Read sentence accounts of experiments or designs, write sentences to explain observations.
  • Goal: Blend STEM terms with descriptive words in precise sentences.

6級

Advancing STEM Vocabulary and Comprehension

  • Focus: Engage with more challenging STEM words suited to the year of study.
  • Activities: Read 7–10 sentence passages, answer focused questions, and write a number of sentences on a STEM concept.
  • Goal: Understand and apply a number of significant STEM terms in detailed texts.

Edwin has worked in software development, systems analysis, management, and technical support roles for several multinational companies in China, Hong Kong, and North America, including Silicon Valley, California.

He has extensive experience in education and training. He has served as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Information Systems at City University of Hong Kong, and has also taught computer studies and mathematics at the secondary school level.

Beline


Beline’s strengths sit at the intersection of coding, data, and hands-on STEM. She programs in Python and JavaScript, builds web pages with HTML, and writes Arduino logic for sensors and real-world measurements.

She can introduce data analysis and visualization with pandas, Excel, and Tableau, then connect the numbers to a project students can see. For curious learners she can also sketch introductory quantum circuits in Python with Qiskit. Beline also teaches math.

Parents can expect a tutor who is fluent in Python, Java, C++, SQL, and web technologies, and who can connect those skills to real student projects. Dong can guide learners through coding fundamentals, algorithms, and debugging, then move into building small websites, games, or data tools when they are ready.

He is also familiar with AI APIs, computer vision, and Python data libraries, which helps when a course touches machine learning or visual computing. He uses Git and common IDEs so students pick up habits they will meet again in later STEM work.
